A FEW WORDS
FROM THE CHAPLAIN

“Everything”
50% of
youth are not virgins – more than 1,500 kill themselves each year – 1 in 4 use
illegal drugs – 40% have self-inflicted wounds – 1/3 were drunk last month – 1
million are pregnant – 1 in 5 thought about suicide – 8,000 get an STD everyday
– don’t conform to the influences of this generation – we all need to be
reached – it’s time to take a stand

HOW TO
FORGIVE
July 19, 2007
His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated him.
He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the illness he had
that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment and
frustration.
Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all
else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he
knew would always be there. And with tears in his eyes, he prayed:
"Lord- You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told
me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you have told me to
forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair
Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't
have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do,
for I don't know how to forgive. My anger is so deep Lord. I fear I may not
hear you, but I pray that you teach me to do this one thing that I cannot do -
teach me to forgive"
As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something
fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he
saw something red on his shirt.
He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a
large square piece of wood in the ground. He raised his head and saw two feet
held to the wood with a large spike through them.
He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on
a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered
body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on
His precious face. As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and
Jesus began to speak.
"Have you ever told a lie?" He asked?
The man answered - "yes, Lord."
"Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?"
The man answered - "yes. Lord." And the man sobbed more and more.
"Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours?" Jesus
asked?
And the man answered - "yes, Lord."
"Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain? "
The man, still sobbing, answered - "yes, Lord."
As Jesus asked many more times, "Have you ever"? the man's crying
became uncontrollable, for he could only answer - "yes, Lord."
Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt
something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and saw that it was the blood
of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a
look of Love the man had never seen or known before.
Jesus said, "I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you."
It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something, but when you
look back in life, you realize how true this statement is.
Read this next line slowly and let it sink in.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it. When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking
of you!

IS THERE LIFE
AFTER DEATH AND WHY DO PEOPLE DIE!
feb. 13, 2006
Since death is sure and absolutely certain to overtake all of us,
it becomes life’s most frightening anticipation. But why is death so dreadfully
fearful? The Bible has the answer: “He that believeth on him (the Lord Jesus
Christ) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.”
(John 3:18)
Death is so frightening because Man, as a sinner, stands
condemned before the Almighty, Holy, and Righteous God. If we measure ourselves
against God’s perfect standard, the Lord Jesus Christ, we see our condemned
condition. What has God done to reverse our plight? The Bible has the answer:
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). The Lord Jesus Christ lived a perfect life for
us. Having done this, He then died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and
rose again the third day. God in His infinite love made away for you to stand
uncondemned before Him.
Now what should you do about your sinful plight? The Bible says.
“….. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved (Acts 16:31). If
you have Jesus in your life and in your heart, you will not have the fear of
death, for He has the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1: 18). So folks,
if you have Jesus in your heart you will have everlasting life.
Verily, verily I say to unto you, He that hearth my word, and
beliveth on him that sent me, have everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24).
So let me say this if you have lost someone close just remember
that death is not good bye but I will see you later.

ONE SIZE FITS
ALL!!!!!!!!
jan. 15, 2006
No matter what you have done in your life, God has sent His only
begotten son, Jesus, to save our souls (salvation). In the Bible, John 3:16
says: “For God so loved the world that He (God the Father) gave His only son (Jesus,
God the Son), that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus) shall not perish but have
everlasting life.”
This passage of Holy Scripture does not say SOME people or a
COUPLE of people, it says, WHOSOEVER. That means ALL people. Some would argue
the point that a person who has murdered or raped or worse can’t be saved. Well
according to the Bible, they can – “For whosoever will call upon the name of
the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
When Jesus was on the cross being crucified for our sins, there
were two other men being crucified as well. One criminal on the right and one
criminal on the left. The one on the men mocked Jesus and said if you are the
Son of God, then save yourself and us. But the other man answered him saying,
Do you not fear God, seeing we have received the same judgment? For our deeds,
we indeed have received the judgment due us, but this man (Jesus) has done
nothing wrong. And he said unto Jesus, LORD, remember me when you come into
your kingdom and Jesus said, today you will be with me in paradise.
Although the man on the right had done deeds worthy of death by
law, he called on the LORD and immediately the LORD gave him salvation. So I
would say to you that it don’t matter what you’ve done or who you are – short,
tall, big, small, black, white, yellow, or red – WHOSOEVER will call on the
name of the LORD WILL be saved!!!
So the next time you see the phrase One Size Fits All, remember
that Jesus (God the Son) paid it all for our salvation.
